I'm taking lariam, flagyl, bactrim DS and art. I'm going to be switching the lariam for mepron and zith to see how I do on that.
That being said, i have no idea what infection I'm dealing with other than...it is a protozoal infection.

I did 60 days of 40 drops 3 time a day of Cryptolepis extract from Woodland Essence and cured my Babesia. I have a microscope and ended the treatment at Christmas and still have not seen any plasmodiums in my blood. I was loaded with them, when I began. I also "feel" cured of it. I worked up slowly on it and overall I tolerated it very well. Cryptolepis is a Buhner suggested herb for Babesia. I was amazed by it's success. Last year I tried to eradicate it with 4 months of pulsed Artemisinin with no success.

A year of Mepron/zith/bactrim and art did not heal my children's babesia. They had two strains which they tested positive for. Then we discovered electrodermal screening and I could see that the Mepron had little effect on the babesia.
We tried cryptolepsis for awhile and it tested much better than Mepron. We probably did not use it at a high enough dose. However we switched to grapefruit seed extract (Agrisept-L from Nutridiem...can get it on ebay) because that tested the best and is my practitioner's first choice for babesia treatment. In 7 months we cured our entire family of babesia. We were also taking herbs for lyme and bart (samento and Cumanda) which I feel is important to do at the same time.

Tish - I think I recall reading your story a couple of months ago. I was so inspired by it! It is so impressive you were able to teach yourself how to read slides and use the microscope. I would have probably gone down that road if we hadn't found our alternative practitioner.
I feel with this disease, you either have to do something like what you did or find someone who is good at electrodermal screening or muscle testing so you can see what is going on inside the body. Otherwise, you are shooting in the dark with treatments. That's why this disease complex is so difficult to heal from...we don't know what works with each of us and different things work for different people.
