I am making my own tumeric and ginger root capsules now because it's so much cheaper.
I was able to find ground tumeric and ginger that are organic and have no other ingredients in them.
My question is.....how do you get it in the capsule?
Is there a teeny tiny spoon or something??
I'm being serious - I put one together this morning and had tumeric everywhere.
For those of you that make your own as well, can you please share with me your expertise on not making a huge mess and wasting a lot?
Thanks for any tips!

I can get 14oz of tumeric for just over $5 at the local restaurant supply store so I have been doing the same thing. I don't feel like I waste much... just residue.
I did a 200 capsules at a time and just dipped them in in. I did it at the kitchen table while watching HGTV. It was relaxing. I think I overstuffed some of them because they are long and hard to swallow. Maybe just stuffing one end of the cap. I was dipping both in.
I am open to other resources for capsules if anyone knows of a cheaper source. I prefer veggie caps and I am out at the moment. Time to re-order!

I love DIY anything. But is there a reason to encapsulate in terms of absorbtion, or is it simply an ease of use issue

In my opinion and my son's tumeric tastes and smells awful.
The Indian culture feels much differently... they use it to spice their food. When I tried cooking with it no one in my house would eat the food!

For us, it's for an ease of issue.
I can get my son to eat ginger root with no problems at all - he loves it.
Tumeric - no way.
Where do you get your veggie caps from? I bought the gelatin ones.

The reason to encapsulate for these things is just ease of use.
You can buy at a health food store, a little plastic tray kind of thing that helps make them, for maybe $10. You set up 50 half capsules, push the powder around and it goes in, then cover them up. Make 50 capsules in about 5 minutes.

The last time I bought veggie caps was through ebay... will probably go that route again.
I paid $15 for 500 '00' vegie caps. Holds approximately 550 mg (unless you over stuff them like I did)
I saved the seller for future reference. The ebay Member id oreganorose
The gelatin ones are cheaper... but I prefer veggie.

I'm using the Capsule machine for tumeric. It's supposed to work easier than the "cap m quick". The veggie caps I get from ebay.

I've had both- the Capsule Machine is definitely easier to use than the CapMQUick.
