I got a prescription for 600 mg of biltricide a day. I know Dr. K has it on his protocol.

I took 1/2 a pill 2X and I became terribly ill so I would say start out slowly. I think I was so full of parasites that the die off was too much because normal doses of albenza made my liver swell up so much that I could hardly walk. I have taken other prescription drugs for parasites and have gone very slow. My LLMD said there was some talk that biltricide might work on the cyst form of lyme.

Took biltricide years ago and had no problem. It does need to be tested and timed well with all other things that are going on. Metals will move, fungi will show, bacteria will test/show up and all should be included in the treatments surrounding biltricide in order to avoid feeling horrible.

That is my experience when treated by Dr.K. He covers the bases with his cocktail more so today than ever before.

Take care.

FYI -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praziquantel

excerpt -

Side effects

The majority of side-effects develop due to the release of the contents of the parasites as they are killed and the consequent host immune reaction.

The heavier the parasite burden, the heavier and more frequent the side effects normally are.

Central nervous system: Frequently occurring side effects are dizziness, headache, and malaise.

Drowsiness, somnolence, fatigue, and vertigo have also been seen. Almost all patients with cerebral cysticercosis experience CNS side effects related to the cell-death of the parasites (headache, worsening of preexisting neurological problems, seizures, arachnoiditis, and meningism).

These side effects may be life-threatening and can be reduced by coadministration of corticosteroids. It is strongly recommended that all patients with cerebral cysticercosis are hospitalized during treatment.

GI Tract: Approximately 90% of all patients have abdominal pain or cramps with or without nausea and vomiting.

Diarrhea may develop and may be severe with colic. Sweating, fever, and sometimes bloody stools may occur together with diarrhea.

Liver: Asymptomatic and transient increases of liver enzymes (AST and ALT) are noted frequently (up to 27%). No case of symptomatic liver damage has ever been seen so far.

Sensitivity reactions: Urticaria, rash, pruritus and eosinophilia in White Blood Counts.

Other locations/Body as a whole: Lower back pain, myalgia, arthralgia, fever, sweating, various cardiac arrhythmias, and hypotension.

-----

These side effects are from the parasite die-off - not the drug.

Terry,

did you get brain problems and also vision problems - stroke like?

Gigi, I will test it with my biotensor but in any case I need to do something. I better start on very low dose. I also rifed.

Thank you all so much, I think I wait till after my iodine loading.

No, from looking at my diary I note that I had weakness, severe leg and joint pain, short of breath (different than air hunger), insomnia, burning in my chest, feet, arms and scalp. Neck was very sore. I woke up during the night feeling like I was suffocating. My chest felt heavy like I had a lot of weight on it. I felt depressed and tearful. Very sore soles of my feet with sore spots on the outer side of my right foot. I felt like my immune system was lowered. It was 2 weeks before I felt better.

My experience with biltricide is how we knew that parasites were a big issue.

You may have no problems at all. Many people don't.

I took it and did fine. It got rid of a rash I'd had on my face for years. LLMD said it was from skin mites.

are doctors (other than doc k) prescribing this, or do most patients seek it on their own?

Mo, Flossie was looking for you here some time ago. Do a search and you will find her inquiry if anyone knew where you are!!!!

Many doctors now realize that parasites need to be treated. Dr. K. calls parasite a priority because they are holding on to the toxic metals.

Also wondering if you are aware of KPU - a major hurdle for many. Remembering your son when I heard of KPU. http://planetthrive.com/2010/04/hpukpu-protocol-for-lyme-and-autism/ (scroll to video)

Wishing you well,

found this to have no side effects whatsoever.

See one of better known LLMDs, who put me on Dr. Ks protocol

I just noticed that karenl took 600 mg per day.
Our practitioner had my 7 year old son taking 300 mg three times/day for 2 days! He had a very hard time with it. I ended up giving him somewhat less than that but I would love to know what dose did everyone else take?!

Thanks,
tickbattler

i think (standardly) it's supposed to be a
20 mg/per kg dose given three times over the coarse of one day.
don't know if doc k or LLMD's do differently?

tick battler,

I took 1.75 of the 600 mg ( this is almost 2x 600 mg)three times a day and for 2 days.

But this was round 4 and I started on round one with 1/4 of 600 mg for one day.
So in the beginning I took less than your child.
I wrote you everything in the pm but your mailbox was full.

I did this according to recommendations.

If he had a hard time you might have hit something.
Otherwise he would not react so much.

Thanks mo and karenl. I thought the dose was OK based on the 20 mg/kg 3 times/day dose. But I still lowered it a bit after I saw his reactions.

karenl - sorry my mailbox was full! It is cleaned out now. Yes, we did certainly hit something - I saw small worms in his stool.

Thanks,
tickbattler

so, doc k reccomends the standard dose, but for two days instead of one?

this page has dosages listed;
praziquantel dosages

and 2 consecutive days is only reccomended in the case of lung flukes. i am just wondering if anyone knows doc k's thinking on this, as i will likely be treating with biltricide at some point.

tick battler, while your son may need Biltricide, it won't take care of Giardia. It will work on the long list of other more macro parasites listed in the article listed above though.

If you who want the parasite protocol, please mail [email protected] The protocol containing five different pharmaceuticals, for short term use, takes care of all parasites. The protocol was developed by some very knowledgable doctors working together and in order to get at all the hidden troublemakers is used in that manner. It works and altering and taking them out of order or only fractions of the protocol will not bring the desired results. These things mutate faster than we can blink!

The protocol works very well for lungworm, especially when accompanied by nebulized iodide which literally all Dr.K. and friends Lyme patients now do. I had never done nebulized iodide, but did it as a trial/curiosity with one drop of iodide and am now several days later still clearing stuff out of my nose as if I had a cold with runny nose! All the lung stuff moves with this iodide treatment that costs a few pennies! Please note Iodide - not iodine or iodoral, etc. You can purchase it as SSKI Iodide.

Got to run -

Biltricide for a tapeworm can do the trick in 1 day?

No way, right?
