I know some don't / can't eat sugar because it causes pain. Others worry it will cause yeast.
So..that made me start thinking...why isn't everyone taking Nystatin? I take 2 pills 2x / day. It is cheap, gentle on your GI tract, and helpful in keeping yeast away.
My diet is "good" but not great. I avoid flour / sugar most days..but do cheat 1-2 days / week on average. I haven't had any yeast problems thus far and feel pretty good most days.
I believe Nystatin is a big contributor to keeping the yeast away for me.
Others?

I have no clue. I took it the whole time I was on abx. I took 4 tablets twice a day. (if I remember correctly)
Now I HAVE heard someone say that it creates opportunity for "super yeast" .. so I don't know about that one.

Good question. I am more fatigued lately then I was before starting abx. I am going to ask my LLNP this very question when I see her next week!

i think many here don't take diflucan or nystatin because doctors don't believe in yeast. or at least the doctor's here don't.
i had to beg for just six pills the last time and i don't think i'll ever get any more.
so it's got to be natural yeast or fungi killers for me.

I meant for those on Abx. And no..it doesn't get in the blood stream. It only stays in the gut...but that is where yeast issues typically begin.
ABX kills gut flora which allows yeast to grow in the gut which then gets into the blood stream, etc.

I'm on Nystatin liquid, 3x/day. It seems to help. I think it tastes worse than Mepron, but that's just me.
