With digestive and intestinal issues, I would like to take two probiotics, one in the morning and one around noon, every day.

I'm hesitant because I don't know if, in taking two, one would wash out the other.

For instance, can I take Align (Bifidobacterium infantis) and S. boulardii both every day? or can I take Theralac with another probiotic?

...or, is taking two a waste of money.

SURE!! I take TONS. You really MUST have something in addition to s.boulardi. That is for sure.

I'm currently taking Theralac AND VSL#3.

moving to Medical...

i take florastor and phillips colon health in the morning.

then vsl 3 and theralac at night. doesn't seem to hurt.

VSL3 Rocks!! NEVER had any problems...take 3-5 daily depending on meds!!

Oh Wow, thanks, Lymetoo, for moving this to Medical, and for the advice. Good, I'm glad I can take more than one. I've read good thing about VSL#3. Where do you buy that...couldn't find it on Vitacost where I buy most supplements.

Randibear, I do have Phillips colon health also, so I'll take that. That seems to help with intestinal problems like "D", which I have had lots of problems with lately. Oh, I hate that "D"!

Jenn, thanks. I am for sure getting VSL#3. Where do you all buy that?

You can get it on VSL3's website:

Also you can order it at CVS and they will have it in a day or so (kept in refrigerated section)

Or get your dr to prescribe you the DS version.

Theralac - I get mine on Amazon.com - sometimes they have great deals. I bought like 6 bottles since I am taking 4 a day.

You can take your SBC with abx since yeast doesn't kill yeast. Just don't take Nystatin with the SBC since they will cancel each other out.

If you have good insurance, ask your dr to prescribe VSL#3 DS... I get a 90 day supply for my copay of $80. For some, it is cheaper than that.

I take 2 PB8, 1 Florastore, 1 VSL3, and 1 Theralac 2x / day

Whats SBC? I reading this post because I am taking VSL # rx and theralac but was wondering if I'm taking enough I also take nystatin so thats why I was wondering what SBC is. Thanks.

Geet .. it sounds like you are taking plenty. If you're having trouble, maybe you need some Diflucan to kill stuff out. Probiotics do not KILL yeast.

penguin.. just curious.. what is the "C" for?? [Smile]

hmm not sure - saccromyCEs? My former LLMD had it as "SBC" on my reminder list so I guess that is where I picked up that acronym. [Big Grin]
