Hi, I posted this question in another thread about Bartonella but didn't get any responses.
From Monday thru Thursday, I had pain in the bottom of my left foot under the ball of the foot (the toe mounds) in the area of the 3, 4 and 5th toes.
It hurt to walk on hard surfaces and it hurt when I pressed it with my fingers. It felt better when I was off my feet.
It slowly got better and when I finally iced it on thursday, it went away.
Does this sound like Bart-related foot pain?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I'm going to say yes.
I had months of heel pain, feeling like the heel bone was smashed (as if I had spent the day jumping barefoot on a sidewalk), worse upon rising, often lasting all day, sometimes just in the a.m. I know that was Bart.
I had 6 months of plantar fasciitis when I could barely walk at all. It felt as if the tendon in the arch of my foot was either pulled or cramping. I know that was Bart.
And a few times I had this pain, feeling like a sock was scrunched in the ball of my foot, under the toes. I would say this was probably Bart all though it was pretty different from most of the foot pain I experienced.
All of it went away with treatment.

What treatment did you use?
Your foot pain, especially the smashed heel pain, sounds exactly like mine.
It all started 2 months after starting abx's for Lyme.
Bactrim DS was prescribed, but I had to stop for now because it was too hard.

Hambone, what happened when you began the Bactrim?
Just curious cuz I had to stop Bactrim after 4- 5 days ...herx like I neeeded to be hospitalized. Not an allegic reation or side effect. Wondering if it did the same to you?

Lots and lots of burning abdominal pain, crying more, weaker, feeling like I would seize if I moved my head the wrong way. It just felt WAY too strong, and that was even after cutting the pills in half and then thirds.

I also have pain in the ball of my foot. I was told it was a pinched nerve.

My doctor does not think I have bartonella. Should I ask for a Bart-specific abx like Levaquin and trying a "challenge"?
I've never had foot pain in my life before. The strange thing is that it disappeared in a couple of days on its own. Don't know what to make of it.
I am so confused.

My plantar fasciitis went away completely with 6 days of IV Rocephin.
My heel pain got MUCH better with Bart treatment, Rifampin & Zith, but along with my other Bart symptoms, never completely went away.
Within the first month of treating Babesia ALONG W/ Bart, Mepron, Zith, Bactrim DS, my foot pain went away completely.
It was as if attacking the Babesia weakened the Bart too.
I was on this combination for 5 months, not quite long enough to get rid of both infections. I felt 98% but not 100%. I had to stop as hubby was laid off and we lost insurance.
I started herbal treatment instead and I have slight heel pain again, only in the morning or whenever I'm in stocking feet.
The herbs are not as strong as the meds, that's for sure. I think it will just take more time on them.
x9, I am not a doctor, so what do I know??? But IMHO, anyone who is sick enough to find lymenet has more than lyme borrelia. Too many of us have been told we don't have this or that and then find we can't get better or stay better.
I take daily notes because I can't remember my symptoms more than a day or two before they all mesh together.
Take them long enough and you will see a pattern emerge. Each infection has it's own cycle. You will see the cycle of the infection that is at the front of the stage at that time and maybe those at the back of the stage too.
Babesia cycle is 4-6 days, Bartonella is 7ish & 14ish, Lyme is 28ish days.
Pay attention and listen to your gut. That way is much more reliable than taking a blood test.
For myself, Rifampin was my drug of choice for Bart. Levaquin knocked my husband, who had Bart symptoms but was not sick, on his butt for 3 months. That's one tough drug.
With Rifampin, I had 3 weeks of emotional herxing and then glimpses of blue skies breaking thru the clouds!
