I quite abx on 3/15 after more than 2.5 years of treatment. My doctor and I had discussed taking me off of them for months and I just bit the bullet and did it.
Since then, I've been fairly itchy and I suspect it is some sort of yeast. Why would the yeast come on after going off of abx treatment? I am still taking Florastor and probiotics.
I've also noticed this week that I've got some painful zits appearing on my face. Is it common to get acne after going off abx. If so, what is the cause.

Well, I am excited for you--getting off meds.
My lyme doc had me stay on the anti-yeast diet for 30 days after stopping meds. He restored my gut during that time, using diflucan, nystatin, and Florestor.
The meds leave our digestive tract deficient of the good flora, so you can't just start eating whatever you want right away. You have to put the digestive tract back in good shape.
So, if you just went back to eating carbs as soon as you stopped meds, that would explain why you got yeast.
I don't know anything about the skin outbreak.
