got back an anaplasma elisa from MDL. is it only doxy to treat this? can i take doxy and amoxicillan at the same time? Is this infection harder to treat or just a few months of doxy and its over. I have a feeling that a lot of the muscle and neruo symtpoms I have are contributed to this. permamnet damage or will go away with treatment?

anyone have this co infection? i need all the info on this.

I was on rifampin and doxy for 2 months and then rifampin and mino for a month. It seemed to help and now I think It came back.

My specific symptoms from it I think were blood shot eyes and my calves were very sore. Also the sides of my butt. Those are the symptoms that got better with treatment. But that's just me.

And I was also on that combo for bart, and as soon as I stopped all those symptoms came back too. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

they say it is, but its a different species...I am trying to figure out the difference between the 2. I have only been taking amoxy and alinia. I have not touched this at all in the 10 months ive had it.

From what I understand, Anaplasma affects different white blood cells (granulocytes - especially Neutrophils) than Ehrlichia (Monocytes). Otherwise, they're essentially the same...

Hi, I had a positive anaplasma test from MDL a few months ago myself. So far, I've been on doxy and have also had a lot of pain. My doctor said it is tendon pain, and she recommended a lot of stretching and hot showers/baths. The other symptom I've had is really bad acne for the first month or so. Thankfully that symptom finally seems to be improving.

I think I've heard there is at least one other antibiotic that is good for this, but I can't remember what that is at the moment [Frown]
