Anybody have any experience with Plaquenil?
My doc wants me to take it along with doxy and ceftin but i'm kinda hesitant because it can be potentially damaging to your retinas. I'm also not sure what it's specifically effective for in treating lyme. All i know is that is used to treat malaria.

It showed effectiveness in busting the cyst form of lyme according to Norwegian Brorson and Brorson studies. Side effects are rare from what I can gather. I would be more scared of the lyme in my eyes more than the drug.

Good to see NMN again.
Personally, Plaq is the one drug I like to avoid. Supposedly eye side effects do not come into play until many months of use. For me, I felt what I would call eye strain in the first few weeks. That was enough for me to stop.
Again it will vary from person to person. It is supposed to work well when teamed with Biaxin. So it's worth a shot as long as you have your eyes checked periodically while on it.

I have been on it for 3 months with no issue though my LLMD did warn about retinal issues. He started me with 1/2th a pill twice a day to see how I tolerated it. He says it opens up the tissues to allow the other abx I am on better penetration and it also is a cyst buster.
