I recently bought an entire set of 4000 gauss (measure of magnetic strength) magnetic hematite bracelets, shoe soles, and necklace. Felt great about a 1/2 hr. after wearing them. My circulation improved, my flexibility increased....then....

Slept with just the necklace on. Woke up with back cramps (neck was still fine) felt exhausted, dizzy, nauseous and depressed. Could this have been hrx-ing?

I've never heard any bad side effects of magnetic therapy. I felt better than I ever had when I initially had them on. More energy, sinus pressure/allergies disappeared, no pain in head, neck.

The magnets attract the iron in our blood to bring new blood circulation to the surface. Could the extra circulation have started to kill off some of the bacteria/co-infections?

Yes this could be a herx.

It is recommended that one not use magnets for therapy for more than half an hour to an hour to start with until the body adjusts to the magnetic therapy. In other words, there is usually an adjustment phase in which you need to increase your time exposed to the magnets slowly or else you are likely to experience detox and/or herx type symptoms.

Increasing your water & vitamin C intake may help alleviate your symptoms for now...

I have never tried magnet therapy.....but I WILL say....everytime after I have an MRI (pituitary tumor) I feel absolutley awful. It knocks me down for at least a few days with feeling like I have the flu. I used to think it was from the Gad (contrast)....but they did not give it to me this last time because I have become allergic to it...and I STILL felt terrible afterwards. HMMMM??

Thank you, Razzle.

Corinne, that sounds awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through that.

I think we need to be careful not to over-invoke the word "herx".

Not to ignore its reality either, of course.

But the point is, we can miss a diagnosis if we do this. (Laypeople shouldn't diagnose regardless, I don't think this is wise. To share our experiences is one thing, but to diagnose is another. So many things can mimic each other, and how do we know? We are not trained).

I would suspect the magnets did more to work your energies and this affected your musculo-skeletal system, and the nausea et al. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, my acupuncturist said that nausea is regarded as "energy rising".

Dizziness can also be from "energy rising" or from weak adrenals www.christopherhobbs.com

So it's possible that having the magnets on for too long simply overdid the job.

I wouldn't think that magnets would kill spirochetes. But you never know. If yes then this would be something to investigate further, and could be an exciting find. I somehow have my doubts though.

But I am not a doctor, I can only guess.

Does this make sense?

Best wishes, CI
