LLMD just told me to get some for my daughter for babs cyst treatment. What kind is good to buy and how much do you give per day. Has anyone had success with this supplement? Capsules versus liquid? What's best? Thanks!

I use nutribiotic brand, liquid. I think liquid is better than anything dried up.
It's very caustic, you might want to start on it with meal, just to see how it goes, if your daughter can handle it. I imagine it's much more effective on empty stomach, though, for those who can handle it.

Nutribiotic liquid is the best. It tastes terrible thou. Buy gelatin capsules and put the liquid inside them and then swallow them.
You can get the capsules at Vitamin Shoppe or probably order them on line.

If you use the drops you would have to mix it with something. You CANNOT take it straight. Would BURN. Says on the bottle to mix it. I mix it with water.

What is the dosage are you all taking?
and are there certain times of day you have to take them, do you have to take them away from certain meds/probiotics?

This is a good question? Can you take the grapefruit seed extract at the same time as your antibiotic? Or probiotic? Anyone?

The GSE is an anti-microbial and should be taken away from probiotics. It's high in phenols, which can be hard on your liver to process. I always take mine with an enzyme like No Fenol by Houston Nutraceuticals to break down the phenols.
GSE is also useful for yeast overgrowth and can be taken with a yeast-targeting enzyme like Candidase or Candex for extra power.

I have read that because it's so strong, GSE should be taken diluted with lots of water. Yes it can be caustic to membranes and that is why diluting it is important. It also can cause strong herx's.
Especially a child should have a modified dose, I would think.
Ask your doctor about this, but this is what I was taught about herbs and child dosages:
Calculate the child's body weight in relationship to an adult of about 150 lbs. So if she weighs 50 lbs, she would get 1/3 of an adult dose.
Again you should ask your doctor about this, this is not medical advice, only information based on which to ask questions of your licensed healthcare professional. Individual needs will vary, depending on the person and the severity of the case, etc so follow your doctor's guidance.

PS I am wondering how you might get a child to take it, it's *extremely!* bitter stuff. The capsules will surely go down easily and painlessly, but will they irritate the digestive linings a bit? If it was me, I might be inclined to use coconut oil or other healthy fats in the diet to compensate, or fish oils at least. Nordic Naturals makes fish oil berries that are tasty (enough) to kids. Some healthfood stores will let the kid try a sample before you buy the whole bottle. I still think coconut oil would be better though, more lubricating to the intestines and more protective. Marshmallow root, ditto but it can possibly interfere with mainstream drug absorption, so should be taken about three hours apart from meds, according to some authoritarian sources I Have read.
