I have a friend with what looks like adrenal fatigue of some sort, and I was helping him navigate the testing and other options. Which cortisol tests do your LLMD's recommend, and from what lab? I'm not up on the issues of saliva test vs blood test vs which lab to use.

Saliva is the way to go. Four samples during the course of the day. Blood is useless.

NeuroScience labs is a good one to use.

Thanks. I just looked at Wilson's (author of a recent Adrenal Fatigue book that I like but don't have access to this week) website about the tests, and he mentioned that two places will let you order without a doctor: http://www.adrenalfatigue.org/what-is-saliva-testing.html

Looks like ZRT Labs diurnal cortisol (4 collections of saliva throughout the day) is 'only' $138 (which is less than a 4-blood-draw test I found via another lab, which Wilson says is less reliable).
