I had posted a topic last night and several people had responded...about new tick bite and reinfection and whether or not to start on abx.
Thanks for replys... my other question now is several had mentioned trying to get on Doxy.
I dont think I have any doxy but I did find some Amox. 500mg from 9-7-10 that I figured is still good (as its only about 7 months old) or if too old I do have a refill on it.
Just wondering your thoughts on starting the Amox rather than waiting to call my LLMD Monday to see if he would rather me take Doxy.
From what I have seem to have learned from researching it, is that Amox would seem to be just as good to start and as I said I already have that.
Again, THANK YOU to all who gives their time and knowledge to help...I would be totally lost without this site...God Bless (:

I would take it until I could talk with the LLMD.
Just my personal opinion.

Doxy is better in the sense it hits the co infection Erilichosis (sp?).
Amoxy is better in the sense you don't have to avoid the Sun's rays like you do with Doxy. Amoxy should be fine as long as you take it long enough (more than the IFDS 10 days).
I think a Doxy generic is $20 for a 60 day supply at Wallmart. Not sure of Amoxy.
