So, Its been a little over a week now and I have been experiencing back pains immediately after eating. Has anyone also experience this and if so, what was your result? Also, I started having this problem post the medication that I am taking. Not certain if its related or what??
This is all new to me, I have never had back pain after eating. Please someone, what do think??

I never had back pain prior to treating. In the first few months It was so bad I had to lie down. It was like clockwork every day at 10 am. Now it has gotten better but will feel it slightly once in a while. It had nothing to do with when I ate though. Good luck!

I don't don't how it would be related to lyme, but back pain after eating is common complaint for people with GI or gallbladder problems.

Where is the pain? Lower back? Upper back? Is it only with certain foods?

IF it's in your mid to upper back, that sounds like gallbladder to me.

I had pain in my back and chest with a gallbladder attack.

Maybe it is kidney related. What meds are you on? Mepron can cause some kidney issues.

Brown Lyme,
I have been dealing with sort of the same problem. In fact I went to the hospital for a week with severe pain and heart problems, often seeming after I ate. And I would get some stabbing pains in my mid to upper back. I am currently home but still trying to find out what is causing this. Tomorrow I am gettting a can of my pancreas and galbladder, and my L.D. thinks maybe its something related to the vagas nerve. Please let me know if you find out anything.

If the pain is that bad, I would just go. But that's me.

I'm in sort of the same boat. Lots of heartburn, delayed stomach emptying, and constipation. All since starting treatment.

I've had every GI study possible-- 5 different proceedures so far.

My LLMD seems to think it is vagus nerve or other autonomic system dysfuntion.

Maybe Bart?

I'm waiting for biopsies from a colonoscopy and have GI and LLMD appts coming up..

I also have that pain in the mid-back and also under the ribs.

Brown I would go to the E.R. for peace of mind, but coming from someone who was just there for the same problems, dont expect much from those docs.

Mary, let me know if they find out anything from the tests. How can they figure out if its the vagas nerve or not?

he's in the ER. its a busy city hosp and he isn't getting much attention

he said they seem confused by his sx -but they know he is txing lyme and they drew blood and did a chest xray...

i told him to let them know other lymies got the back pain after eating an it was gall bladder

philly-i can give you his number if you want it

if anyone wants me to tell brownlymie anything you can put it here or pm me

i'm glad he went. i keep thinking kidney. gall bladder is an easy fix

thank you all. I was released but nothing found in my blood. Is anyone suprised??? lol. Well the only thing that they said test showed, was that I had an elevated bulirueben...thats apart of the gallbladder. When I go to the walk in clinic tomorrow I will find out if that dx is related to the pain i've been having....

brown, have you spoken to your LLMD yet? I am feeling a bit better myself but only thanks to my pain management meds, I still need to find out the underlying issue before it gets worse.

Also I am seeing an endocrynologist, and he is testing for alot of different chemical and hormonal issues that could be causing this, I would suggest you do the same.

Aside from the back pains after you eat, do you experience any other symptoms?
