I'm an avid outdoorsman and I have a bad reaction to the sun while on doxy. My doc put me on minocycline and it made me feel drunk got off that stuff real quick and got back on the doxy. Spring is here and it's morel season, it really sucks having to be all covered up in the nice bright sun!

I've been on the doxy since Feb. With my work and lifestyle the side effect from the sun just isn't working for me

I'm experiencing the same thing... when I posted on this awhile back, I got the following advice:
"I had the same problem and I got a red blister reaction on my hands. It is definitely the doxy. Given your combination of drugs you could probably drop the doxy, but your llmd needs to tell you that. I switched to minocycline with rifampin, but I was going after Bartonella/Lyme.
In the meantime, go to extreme measure to protect yourself."
"Minocycline isn't as sun sensitive, but there is still some sun sensitivity, so be careful. But, my doctor was willing to change my meds for the summertime."

I went to Zithro. They do the same thing. Both are bacteriostatic, both reach good levels in the brain, and treat the same infections. (Zithro also has some acitivity against babesia.)
