Is it imperative to be off ABX for retesting of Lyme/co-infections?
I am finishing my 2nd month of Doxy this week, and my dr drew blood today to retest for Lyme, etc. I inquired if I should be off the ABX and she said no.
Thoughts?
Otherwise my appt went well: continuing on the Doxy, adding in Azythromycin, & LDN. I have seen no improvement on the 1st 2 months of Doxy, most of my symptoms are neuro.
LabCorp Positive IGM bands 23, 41 (Feb. 2011) after 6 months of not feeling well. No tick bite ever detected. Onset of symptoms was light headedness. Hoping to get Igenex tested next month.
Thank you!

Yeah, I think tests become a tad bit more reliable when you're off the abx for a while. I stopped abx for a few weeks a couple of months ago and ended up with a positive Lap Corp western blot.
So the abx challenge does help bring out a positive it seems...

Dr. H. at Igenex told me for tests 188 and 189 you do not have to be off antibiotics. For the PCR you do.
