it feels like sweat or shampoo had dripped into my eye. i come on suddenly and with no consistancey. my eye/eyes water to the point of crying, then it dissapears after 10 min or so.
today it was so bad i could keep my eyes open for more than a second. does anyone have any clue what this is or how i should handle it?

Yes, I had that a lot! I'd forgotten!
It would come and stay for days at a time. Sometimes so bad I could hardly keep my eyes open. A cold wet washcloth helped.
It went away with Bart treatment.

i went to my eye doc for this reason. It happened from my zithromax. he said it was like sand from dry eye due to abx.
He gave me natural eye drops for day and gel for night time relief. I use them when it happens, since it is on and off. It got to a point where I coudl not sleep from the burning and scratching.

When I get that sensation it is usally allergies and/or dry eyes (side effect of some meds).
Eye allergy drops and eye lubricating drops help AND they decrease my eye pain and light sensitivity which can also be symptoms of dry eyes.

Try whatever you can to treat this quickly, nip it in the bud and take it seriously!! I have had this problem get worse and worse over the last five years. Now, I am bothered with burning eyes every minute I am awake.
Two years ago, I couldn't even see for 2 weeks. I was at my daughter's birthday party wearing 2 pairs of sunglasses. My eyes burnt and I rubbed them too much.
I ended up scratching my cornea's and the eye specialist my eye doctor sent me to threatened to put me in the hospital. He did tell me at the time that some meds made this problem worse, and I thought with treatment I would get better. I haven't.
Some nasal sprays help me temporarily, and some eye drops help. Nothing I have found eliminates the problem. I think it is inflammation, but I don't know.....
