I was starting the think the doxy wasn't doing anything all for me other than making me slightly more anxious/irritable.

I'm just about to start my 4th week, however, and I feel HORRIBLE today. Terrible terrible anxiety. I had a major hour-long panic attack earlier and am having worse head/eye pain for the past couple of days. Also more queasiness.

Herx?! I hope!?! Since my vision problems have been getting worse and worse I am PRAYING for a herx -- I need some validation/encouragement that I'm doing the right thing by taking the abx.

Have an appointment to see my LLMD (the one who's been under-treating me) on Weds, and a new one (supposedly treats more aggressively) next Monday.

Thanks Lymetoo, "she" is right. [Smile]

My vision problems make me so anxious and you guys are the only people I can really pose these kinds of questions to.. It's so hard not knowing what's going on with me but I'm just clinging to any little thing which suggests I COULD be starting to make some progress.

I think I'll probably continue to feel this way until someone can finally give me some answers about my eyes. Better yet, maybe they'll actually start improving one of these days instead of getting worse.

The anxiety today has been horrible. I used to feel like this all the time! So I guess it is a worsening of old symptoms.

Still, the vague nature of it all makes it very confusing. I struggle a lot with OCD type issues and ruminating, so it's very easy to fall into the "what if it's not Lyme and I'm just crazy" mental trap.

I have had worsening spots/splotches in my peripheral vision for almost 2 years. Started in one eye and has recently spread to both. They are not floaters -- they don't move. I also have transient eye pain.

Eye docs say my eyes look normal (dilated exam), had a normal visual field test and normal MRI last spring. Problem started in summer 2009.

Going to see the LL neuro oph in PA in a few weeks.

Can they see your nerves when they do a dilated exam? I was under the impression that a dilated exam will allow them to see the optic nerve. If that is the case, yes. If not, no.

I expect the one in PA will do more extensive testing. I am going to go in there and basically tell him I am desperate and have been unable to get any answers.
