My son is 7 years old. I did 3 months ago Igenex labs on him and came negative.
I know they don't mean nothing, but i called my LLMD and told all the lab and that here Doctors think is allergy issue and he told me to treat for allergy for now and hi thinks does not have lyme .
He never had contact with ticks never left the city asphalt but I,m concerned that he might got it living with me lyme or co infections.I'm positive per my LLMD but not per tests by CDC and Igenex.
My son started to cry and does not want to go to school he cry ed also yesterday he told me just can not stop crying and don't know why just after hi went inside a school he told me don't know why he crays and started to try find why.
He said maybe because he is staying for 6 ours at school and hi miss us allot, and started to complain that school is boring everyday same stuff, and it is not fun hi is not having fun and everything is boring.
He gets very easy mad on everything.Just is not old him anymore use to be very calm and patient with everybody.
So hi has rashes ,throat problems very often ,circles under eyes and this crying problem for more then 1 year pediatricians told me he is anxious and have allergies.
Will like to tray to help him with whateveri can supplements or treatments but not sure what is the best.Where and how to start help him.
Thank you for any idea.

HI Maradona:
I have a 11 year old daughter, her ordeal started at 9.
She has been negative from testing but we did pull the tick and have various positive bands via IGeneX.
This is difficult. I don't know how to help you or your son as I don't know more than the LLMD's. You do have to be your own advocate as trusting an MD can only go so far.

Hi,
You could also have your son checked for Strep.
It's a blood test for Anti-D-NASE B and ASO Titers.
Mycoplasma pneumonia as well, especially if he is in school.
I hope he feels better soon.

I did the strep D-Nase B blood test it was high and the MD told that he has at that time throat infection but he will be OK.
Kids for sure did not had ticks at all because they never left asphalt of the city.
I'm worried for co infections that they might got them from living with me .
And strep test added more anxiety for me because I tasted same time with my son and mine was high to .
LLMD one time told me that it can be all chronic strep but with lyme treatment should be cured.
Hard for us when so called experts that claim to treat up to 10 thousand patients with lyme most of the time guess but at least this LLMD of mine don't hesitate to prescirbe antibiotics. Thank you for responses

It sounds like you need to get him to a LLMD.

My 8 yr old has 3 IGG bands, no others. She has an elevated strep titer and the pediatric neurologist put her on 6 weeks of amoxicillian. She is much better and is our little girl again. I will probably still take her in to the LLMD as her babesia was borderline.
Her symptoms were emotions, as you say easily crying, nighttime anxiety, and all sorts of weird pains that came and went.
Does your son complain if he has to walk far distances or climb stairs? That would be Babs per my LLMD.
Good luck. Someone out there should put him on ABX. Be sure to supplement Vitamin D3 (they have chewables) and probiotics.
I am not a doctor, this is only my life experience.

Why do you doubt allergies? All the symptoms you describe are symptoms of a child with multiple allergies. I would see a good pediatric allergist and have him tested for environmental AND food allergies. All 3 of my kids had food/chemical/environmental allergies and had the symptoms you describe. They also were clinically pos. for Lyme BUT dealing with the allergies helped them TREMENDOUSLY! 2 out of 3 kids were also bitten by ticks, and they were exposed from me(pg and BF).
I would rule things OUT for sure. If you are going to have blood drawn to check for myco, etc you might as well wait and have the allergist test for food allergies etc so he only has to have one blood draw.
To jump right to Lyme tx without ruling out other things...I wouldn't. Abx is NOT without risks. If you aren't reasonably sure, as in you have ruled out the other things it could be, then start there first. My children would have absolute meltdowns after eating soy. Crying uncontrolably, rashes, up at night...they walked around with circles under their eyes for 2 years(a tell-tale sign of allergies)Find a pediatric Allergy/Immunology Dr. and start there. They will be hinest with you. If it ISN'T allergies, they will tell you and not waste your time.
I don't think your son would have caught Lyme from you just *living* with you. It doesn't work that way. If you had it while pg and/or you bf for a while then it is possible he caught it that way...but regardess if he has allergies, that will complicate things no matter what.

- Agree. Get the allergies checked out and treat the strep.

I did the tests for allergy for him and it was positive only for dust mite allergy MD put him on antihistamine and it helped with rash but started to complain shortness of breath we stop the medicine and his breathing was better. My kids are attached to me and stay all day long just kissing and hugging me before I new for lyme and after. Now I avoid kissing them because of co infections and lyme and confusion on infecting people with them .Strep for sure is a problem but worried that in the mix is hiding more stuff.Pediatrician treated him with amoxicillin for 14 days but i think the problem is not solved.

Maradona, please do some reading about Lyme and how it is transmitted! You are NOT going to infect your children with Lyme!!! Unless you had it while you were pg AND/OR breastfed for a period of time they are NOT GOING TO CATCH IT FROM YOU!!! Kiss your kids!
Now, as far as the other stuff...what type of allergy testing did you have? Some tests are more sensitive than others, and some can pick up 'sensitivities' that others cannot. Has he had his IgE tested? How is his gut? Have you considered taking him off Gluten and/or dairy and see how he does?
Also, there is no harm in asking that he be retested for strep to see if he was indeed cured. If not, then another round of abx may help.

I would also look into PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with strep) at www.pandasresourcenetwork.org
Sudden onset OCD and overnight changes in behavior, in the same time period as a strep infection, is a "classic" PANDAS picture. 14 days of an abx may not be sufficient. At the end of the 14 days, you need to have your son re-swabbed for both a rapid and 48 hr. strep culture to make sure the infection has been cleared.
Having Pandas doesn't mean you can't have lyme (you can have both) but given your son's limited risk for tick exposure and recent strep infection, PANDAS should be explored. It is just as controversial as lyme and just as difficult to find a "believing" specialist willing to treat it properly, but having the correct diagnosis is the key to good health for anyone.
