I had this badly the first few months I felt ill. It drove me CRAZY. It was always when I woke up. Sometimes I still feel my heart beating in other parts of my body. At first the doctors told me it was all anxiety. I knew it was not.

I have this too, I am hoping it goes away with treatment. Mine is worse at night, but if I turn my head a certain way it seems to get quieter..

I used to have that all the time, but not only when laying down. It would also get much louder/harder in my head right before I would pass out, lol.
Betablocker got rid of it for me(though I still have heart palpitations in chest..), but I *hope* to be off that someday!

back2game, I see the same pulse in my eyes when laying in bed, and I remember seeing this when I first got sick with the week of flu symptoms.
I also recall this earlier in life any time I had the flu.
Separate from that, early on in the illness, I felt what felt like electical impulses or pulsating in my head and if I covered an ear with my hand, I'd hear it even more. It's like quick little electrical impluses, much faster than a heart rate pules.

One of my first symptoms. I felt my pulse pounding in my head and very loudly in my ears when I would lie down to go to sleep.

It most likely means your blood pressure is high at the time. If you have a cuff, next time it happens go take your BP. I used to get this (both seeing pulse in my eye and hearing it in my head) when my BP was uncontrolled.

Well you described my life. I get insane listening to it all night long. I have such horrible brain shakes that I cant walk straight.
How does anyone walk feeling like that? It can zap me at any moment and i tip over or grab on to people and scare them lol!
I had this increased by 1000 when I went on rifampin and even after stopping it the shakes and brain zaps and pulsing in my head are still soo intense. Much worse than before I started treatment.

maybe that's what's causing my eyes to twitch and jerk. it could be my heartbeat. and then the ringing in my ears.
i take bp meds and do monitor it and i'm pretty well normal.
it's the jerking and twitching that gets me.

I feel the sensation of my pulse in my head.... Like I am feeling/hearing my pulse. The severity varies.
Somedays I have intense headaches that pulse. And they get worse when I change positions... ex. up from a chair or sit down. or even coughing will do it.

Yes, have had this for over two years. Not sure if its part of lyme or not my ENT says its sinus and ear infection. I also have ringing in my ears 24/7 its much worse when I have a sinus infection, which I seem to keep but not the typical sinus symptoms so that is why I think lyme.
Still no treatment yet, hoping to know something Tues.
When I take an abx for my sinus the sound in my ears and head goes away only to return.
SO many problems and so few answers..
