Today I scheduled a total hip replacement due to torn labrum in my right hip. Has anyone gone through this while treating for Lyme Disease and Babesia? I'm nervous about possible infection during recovery. [confused]

During my append. surgery I was given Zosyn IV. This probably helped to prevent infection, but it did cause psychotic herx for 24 hours in hospital. That was probably just me; I've had CNS lyme for decades.

Don't think you really need to worry about infection as long as the docs know all of your meds.

My prayers are with you for a smooth, uneventful surgery.
