After limited help from the medical professions, after limited help from the naturalists, I've decided to try to find a good lyme doctor again. I've had one test through Igenics and a few from the Mayo, over the last 10-12 years. But never for the co-infections. So what labs do the best testing? I would like to know once and for all exactly what is making me live this 1/2 life. And does insurance cover the cost? I have blue cross and healthpartners.

Burrascano recommended Igenex the 2 times I heard him speak. The lyme doc that cured me also uses Igenex. Igenex gave me positive results for babesiosis and bartonella. I came back negative for ehrlichia.
My lyme doc ordered at least 2 different tests for each of these cos. So, one test came back negative, but another positive for each infection. The different tests search for the diseases in different ways, so if any test is positive, you are definitely positive for the disease.
You have to pay for the Igenex tests up front (can put it on a credit card) and then submit to your insurance. (I had blue cross federal.) Insurance will pay a small amount toward the cost.
It was 7 years ago when I got tested. I recall it cost me about $600 for all the Igenex tests.
It was money well spent in my opinion, because I found out I had babs and bart. I didn't really have symptoms of either of these diseases. But, just treating lyme never got me well.
