Hi there--just wondering if anyone else was diagnosed with ALS (which I have) and find out it may be Lyme (for which I have coinfections.)
Thanks!

My husband's coworker was diagnosed with ALS and went to a lyme doctor at my suggestion and tested positive for lyme and coinfections.

The lyme doctor was able to reverse his "ALS" until he ruined everything by drinking 24/7.

So, if the so-called ALS symptoms can be reversed with lyme treatment, that pretty much tells you it isn't ALS.

There are quite a few people who get the ALS diagnosis and it is really lyme. A doctor in Arizona made this rather famous. See this website for his story:

http://www.canlyme.com/martz.html

When this happens, we call it "the ALS presentation of lyme." Those that have the ALS presentation need to be treated by a very skilled lyme doctor. Not just any one will do.

Many doctors treat lyme, but only a few know how to get rid of it for a person. And, the ALS presentation is one of the more complicated lyme cases, so please get yourself to one of the best docs in the nation. The best doc is in New York state, so you are very fortunate there.

Please contact lyme support groups in your state (see Support Groups on left side of page) to get his name.

I wish you the very best!

Here's an article which describes a new test for Lyme.

http://www.getwellhealth.com/news-lyme-disease-and-als/

quote:
Using a newer test that measures cytokines that are specific to the Lyme Spirochete, a test that has only become available from Neuroscience since October of 2010, Dr. Sponaugle has diagnosed Lyme infections in half of his addicted patients and all of his patients diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and ALS.

The above link leads you to the following link:

http://floridadetox.com/lyme-disease-found-in-100-percent-of-150-als-patients

It would be good for you to read about the various lyme treatments this page describes and the negative and positive effects on those with ALS/lyme.

Shows you that not just any treatment will do when you have the ALS presentation.

Please get yourself to a very experienced lyme doctor who has treated to recovery a number of ALS patients.
