My LLND thinks that this is a bigger issue for me right now than Lyme itself, and there are some labs that back of this finding. I'm wondering how many others of us have the same issue.

LLMD looked at my tongue (whitish) and did muscle testing to tell me I had a yeast issue. I'm male. 6 or so months of ADP oregano extract did not help so I am now on difulcan.

I think this is a majorly significant issue. And, quite possible, may be THE underlying issue for some of us that allowed things (like Lyme, etc.) to get out of control in the first place. I'm getting tested now.
When I emailed the survivingmold.com site, they suggested following tests (they are specific about which test should come from which lab):
Lab Corp HLA DR by PCR VIP MSH ACTH TGF-B1 MMP-9
Quest ADH (anti diuretic hormone) Osmolality
And C3a and C4a, which can be done by either lab.
Check out the website. It's excellent. Also, definitely get the book. I can't believe how much seems relevant to me.
Best, Tammy

I recently tried to get the C3a & C4a done at Quest and was told that they do not offer those tests. The nurse said that they may have offered them at one point but do not at this time. Anyone have luck getting those tests done by Quest??
My insurance does not cover LabCorp, so I was trying to get as much done as possible through Quest. I don't think I can afford to pay out of pocket for the LabCorp tests right now, they are pretty expensive (like $340 and $200 for the MSH & VIP, can't remember which was which).
I suppose mold could be a factor for lots of people. Who knows..there is so much crap to consider.

skies - I just had the C3a and C4a tests done at Quest. Results are still pending. Maybe the tech didn't want to take the time to help with it.

I guess I will have to run it by my doctor.
I heard the tech make a phone call to double check with someone on these tests (I'm not sure if it was a main office or something) and I guess this person confirmed that they are not available.
Hmm.. I'll have to look further into that.
Thanks!

That's funny.... I have my Quest Report right in front of me with some of my results, and those two tests are listed here, with results still pending.
Here is the physician order sheet Dr. S has on his website: http://www.survivingmold.com/docs/Physician%20Order%20Sheet_4_13_2011.pdf I know some of the test codes are now different because the on-site techs told me so. I'm not sure which ones may have changed, but here are the Quest test codes (if they haven't changed.) Maybe ask the Quest tech to look it up by these numbers.

Good luck!

I had many of the tests that Tammy N lists (from Dr. S's website). Those tests, though, are not specifically for mold, but for markers in the body that are indicative of mold.
SpiroStat offers a PCR test for molds, but I would guess that one would need to be off anti-fungals for some time before taking it. I would like to do that test, but am not willing to stop treating.
As for medications, I found that Diflucan did not work so great for me (and one LLMD told me that fungus easily becomes resistant to Diflucan), so my LLND recommended Sporanox (also based on muscle testing that showed Sporanox would be more effective).
It is definitely stronger! I took it for 3 days and had what I guess is a "herx" -- or a fungal flare. The symptoms were very intense from the die-off (crazy dizzy, sinus infection returned).
My LLND had me switch to Albenza, an anti-parasite medication that has antifungal properties. That way she could address my parasite issues and bring down the level of mold so that I could tolerate Sporanox next.
