I just can't seem to make any improvement . My wife always calls me from work 3 or 4 times dailey.
on 4 - 18 her first call I did not answer , she came home , found me reclined back on the loveseat unresponsive . 911
2 nights on the vintilator ,I was out .day 2 after awakening the wife was walking the halls with me ,3rd day awake I came home . praise the lord .
I haven't had a siezure in a year or more . they ran all kinds of test but still were not sure . the diagnosis was siezure complicated by medication .
Has anyone else experienced a complete shutdown like this? for right now I'm off most all my meds including ABX to give the systom a rest.
Thank you all for the responses that I know are coming ! BILL

Wonder if you could share what meds you were on and which infections you think you have.
From your description it is hard to say if you had encephalitis or meningitis or just seizures. Not saying that seizures are fun or easy, but just wondering if maybe there is more going on.
Hubby has had many episodes where he was unresponsive and ended up in the ER and hospital. Thankfully though he has never been on a ventilator.
The one thing I used to use in the past that seemed to bring hubby around the best was IV glutathione. It would at least wake him up most of the time enough so I could get him into bed.
These spells have been gone for several years now -- hard to say but my guess is that they were primarily due to bartonella.
Steve was never actually diagnosed with a seizure disorder and none of the seizure meds we tried stopped these spells. Hubby went thru a period of 3 or 4 years when he had spells 2 or 3 times daily.
Don't know if you have had IV Rocephin or not -- but if the underlying issue is brain inflammation then that would be another possibility.
If you have not had a brain SPECT scan then I think that would also be a good starting point in trying to figure out just what is going on.
Thank goodness your wife takes such good care of you. I know how hard it is to let hubby go off and do things on his own. And then there is always the question as to whether it is safe to let him drive.
Take care of yourself and if you can share any more details maybe someone can help you get back on track.

P.S. Unlike your spells the worst ones for hubby were usually first thing in the morning -- he just didn't wake up right. For the most part those were the ones that ended up as ER and hospital visits.
