Yes I didn't really have twitching until I started taking flagyl. The twitching eventually slowed down but I still have it.

I get twitching when all my symptoms increase and when I treat with a cystbuster. Twitch....twitch....twitch...
First time I took a cyst buster, my husband had to hold down my legs in bed because they were twitching so wildly.

Magnesium deficiency
If you are low in mag, unless you are doing IV or topical, you can't possibly take enough to bring your levels to normal. Your body cannot absorb enough from a supplement

Yes, I've had major twitching of muscles, mostly in my legs, but also my lower lip. After starting treatment, herxes would cause a worsening of this symptom. Almost 3 years of treatment, and this symptom is mostly gone.

When I think of "twitching", I think of like a mild, repetitive movement in one small area, like around your eye or something. Is that what we are talking about?
I have that, but I also get muscle "jerking" where for instance, my shoulder will just jerk upwards all of the sudden. It will usually do it once then a few seconds later do it again, then maybe a longer period do it again. Then it'll go away, only to return later in the day.
Last night I couldn't fall asleep because of it, and that's the first time that's happened.
The interesting thing is, it's only on the right, which is the same side that I have numbness/tingling in my leg, arm, cheek that comes and goes.
But I was most interested in the "jerking", if anyone else experiences that...the bartonella connection sounds interesting to me as that is what I'll be treating for next. Where did you hear that these symptoms are bartonella?

I had extreme twitching before starting abx, but it did get worse once I started treatment. After a year twitches were few and far between.
I took a 6 month break after over 2 years of treatment and now the twitches have come back.
I have twitches AND whole limb jerks, head jerks etc.

The tics were almost diagnosed as Tourette's Syndrome - except antibiotic intervention helped them stop before he fully met the diagnostic criteria.
The myoclonic jerks come when he's most symptomatic. They are very visible and hard to explain to other kids.
My son was negative on specialty labs bartonella but LLMD is treating it as such, since he has other neuro symptoms as well (OCD, ADD and GAD).

What has been a breakthrough for me is difulcan. It has greatly reduced twitching.
Doc is going after bart and yeast.
What was not a breakthrough, despite "common knowledge" was magnesium. Granted I never did IV, but I did take many strong epsom salt baths (bags and bags of salts, over time), and supplements, with no results.

Twitching can also be from parasites.
Interesting that many report it is worse on cyst busters like flagyl...which are also anti- parasitic.
