Look up drug herb interaction studies here:

www.herbmed.org

Ask your doctor

There is a wonderful book praised by an NIH researcher as being objective and thorough. Herb, Nutrient and Drug Interactions by Stargrove/Treasure/McKee printed in 2008 tells you which nutrients/herbs interact beneficially as well as non-beneficially

Milk thistle interacts with very few drugs and increases the uptake of chemo and radiation therapy for cancer patients while reducing toxicity and side effects, according to the book

Ultimately the choice is up to your doctor, stick with his/her advice. Doctors should have computerized d base interaction info.

Herbs that block toxins from entering the liver:

Milk thistle (by far the most powerful) schizandra, ginger somewhat

Herbs that detoxify the liver: There are many this is only a very partial list

Dandelion root
Artichoke leaf
Burdock
Fringe tree bark
Bitter, sour flavored foods (arugula, dandelion leaves, lemon fresh squeezed, etc)

Further reading: Natural Therapy for your Liver (book on AMazon by phytotherapy authority)

Best, CI ps Latin name for Milk thistle = silybum marianum if you are looking it up on the site above. Enter milk thistle to search box, but Latin name will come up. Click on Latin name and follow leads to interaction studies.

Norwegian Gold brand of fish oil is burpless...there are many

varieties to choose from ie: with additional supplementation...

you can get them in a health food store and online...don't know

if they are available in a pharmacy...they worked for me with no

unpleasant side effects...good luck !
