I started taking Samento and Cumanda, rotating every 12 days. I think I'm having severe herx, but it doesn't seem to stop symptoms after discontinueing the samento/cumanda.
Any ideas how to restart the dosage of samento/cumanda to tolerate? I was at 15 drops, 2 times daily.

My daughter (26) had a severe herx with Samento and had to stop for 2 weeks and then restart. She's a bit of a rebel and always tries the highest dose first, so she started at 15 drops, which IMO was a big mistake.
Once she started again, she started with 3 drops and has been fine ever since. The latest Cowden information said not to alternate every 12 days. If you do a search in General you will find that it says to stay on without breaks.

I was able to get to where Cumanda no longer made me herx after two months, but I took Samento for four years and herxed the whole time until I finally accepted that I could not take more than 5 drops a day, and only in the morning, or it kept me awake all night.
I think we are all different in what we can tolerate. It may depend on whether we have HLA DR4 genes or not. I believe this has to do with the speed at which you can detoxify the potent endotoxins put out by the dying borrelia.

I'm at about day 77 of the Cowden protocol. Once I worked up to the full dosing, I've been herxing a lot more. Herxes are characterized by increased fatigue, increased twitching, and more recently a day long headache. I'm definitely making something angry.

bridge, The Cumanda herx for me was lots of muscle pain with every movement. Like someone put me in a burlap bag and beat me with a baseball bat!
It usually started on the 3rd day after raising the dose, so I had to learn to be patient and not raise the dose too fast.

Oooo, Cumanda packs a strong herx. I think I got up to 15 drops BID after 10 months. I can't say it did/or did not do anything for me. I quit when I relapsed further.
