I'm getting my IV Rocephin pulled friday may 13th. that i've been on for 30 days. My llmd says he going to start bart treatment with zitromax & bactrim when i gett off IV... What antibiotic for Neuro lyme should i add with zithromax & bactrim because he's not sure... any opinions?

I thought they treated Bart with Levaquin or Rifamkin. I was treated with Levaquin for about 5 months and I don't think it did too much for me, my feet still hurt
That was your first treatment, an IV? That is great! I hoped it helped. I wish they did that for me instead of minocycline caspsules twice a day.

IMO since you did so well on a cephalorsporin you should be on something like Ceftin or Ominicef.. I can see that he is attributing your neuro symptoms to Bart so he is trying to address that issue right now.

Just be careful with Bactrim, you should read up side effects and be aware of them when taking this abx.

Ceftin may help .. but zith may also help. Bactrim is a good first choice.

I hate quinolones myself (levaquin, cipro, etc) and Rifampin was a really bad experience for me.
