I have recently been diagnosed with Lyme and it's all affecting me neurologically....
Besides huge memory, concentration and focus issues and being pretty debilitated with these....does anyone out there also struggle with a brain that is...
dopey, sluggish, lazy, fuzzy, but especially really really DOPEY, like the 'brain wants to sleep'? Or you want to just put your head down on the table because your brain is so very dopey but you cannot sleep? Thx for your help...

You sound like the Seven Dwarfs all rolled into one!
I know, cause that is how some of us feel, including me sometimes. Lyme can do that... for sure.
SOME of those feelings may be caused by yeast and/or toxins (are you treating the Lyme yet?) Also want to mention this to your doctor, just in case they want to check it out further.
Also, have you been checked for Babesia?
I know this is more than annoying... but hang in there. One day you will suddenly "snap" back to clear headedness.

Tincup....I have been on doxy for 5 weeks, now, just at the beginning of my lyme protocol I have also decided to start humaworm for parasites. I think that humaworm can also help kill off yeast. If you have any further thoughts, please post them! I'd love all the help I can get. Don't know if my LLMD did the testing for Babesia....He is to notch. I suppose he did.

I had bad brain fog , concentration trouble , memory issues . Felt like I had dementia and ADD all wraped into one . Do you take L-carintine with Alpha lipoic acid ( this is also a must have ).

They are a biofilm buster and blood thinner , helping with any clotting and allowing for a proper blood flow . If you are taking any blood thinner`s DONT take this ! You should check with your Dr. to make sure this is something you should be taking .

Yes, this is my worst symptom. You described it well.
I believe that it gets better with Babs treatment although Babs is the one thing I have not tested positive on.

marine 6624 I am presently on doxycycline as a beginning protocol with my LLMD for Lyme.
I ordered humaworm to begin a parasite cleanse
I am very zoned out debiitated....extremely difficult to concentrate on simple things.
It's not so much a problem with expense, but the concentration needed to take all this stuff.
Target: for now, do you think it's sufficient to take the Nattokinase? Can the acid and caratine be left for now? I'd be immensely grateful for your help here... if you feel l-caratine and acid are absolutely essential, I'll try my best but need to know exactly when and how much...thanks! I need to somehow get clarity....

okay Marine.....I am totally zoned out....Is the L-carnitine w/alpha loproic acid one product? What is it for? Could you kindly outline the protocol you take re: nattokinakinase lcarnitine w/alpha lopoic acid.
Could you kindly outline the specific blow by blow schedule (time of day etc.) as you take these products, how much, etc. so it is as simple as can be for me. I am very zoned out. I am deeply appreciative....

Chiropractic neurology has been my life saver www.acnb.org
Tocotrienols, alpha is the best but gamma and delta are also helpful for brain inflammation, according to my LLMD. He put me on a product by Cardiovascular Research Ltd called Annatto Tocotrienols 125 mg softgels.
Coconut oil, medium chain triglycerides (fats) in coconut are used in epileptic seizures, according to a top level ND whose lecture I attended
Fish oils
Lecithin, the brain is composed of more than 80% lecithin according to Earl Mindell's The Vitamin Bible of the 21st Century
Pretty hard on the body to take all of the fatty acids above, I would try one or two and see what works, ask your doctor which s/he thinks are best for you
I find that coconut oil helps me most of all, by far but we all respond to different things. I melt it by pouring hot soy milk over it and drinking it, so it's not so icky as a hard lump ugh. Too much heating spoils the effect so pouring hot liquids is better than heating on the stove or in the microwave.
I also rub it on my body anytime there are uncomfortable neuro sensations going on, for me this cools things right out and fast too. But I have to do it several times a day if there is agitation or whatnot. Still works, so long as I keep at it. I no longer need it now that I have been seeing my chiropractic neurologist fyi the agitation and other symptoms settled right out!

Caution with alpha lipoic acid:
It can start off a heavy metal cleanse and if there is blood-brain barrier compromise, or leaky gut syndrome, this can lead to auto-immune attack. (If neither condition above and strong liver, good binders used, it's probably fine but check with your doctor about your own unique case).
When I started taking ALA I had puffiness and tissue swelling, pain et al from heavy metal detox. I flushed with lots of fluids and did extra chlorophyll, which helped, but also had to ultimately stop because it was too much for me with everything else I have to take care of right now.
Just my two cents worth.
Ginkgo, gotu kola are good brain tonics (caution: Ginkgo is a blood thinner do not take with blood thinning medications). It dilates the capillaries to the brain and aids the delivery of oxygen to the brain, thereby helping with concentration et al.
I really like the Paradise Herbs brand, no binders or filler, no alchohol, glycerin etc it's a powdered extract in capsules. Available here www.iherb.com
