Anyone know if non-health practitioners can purchase this.

If so, where?

I didn't notice anything while on it. Apparently it is weaker than A-BART which I am on now and prefer.

Sheryl, do you prefer it because you 'feel' something or because it actually is making you better?

More herxing with A-BART. Noticed no difference one way or the other with BAR-1. My LLMD said that A-BART was stronger than BAR-1 and I concur.

Does herxing = improvement? That's what I don't hear much on Byron White stuff?

Generally, it means you are hitting / killing the bugs.

All I know is, when I started A-Bart..I'm having a flare in my bart-like sx, and I've seem imrovement in my twitching.

So if you get no herxing, what does it mean?

Wondering if those who have been on any of these products now for a good while can give an update.....seeing improvement in symptoms? Which symptoms have improved?

Can you say what percentage you were prior to starting them versus now, i.e., 70% before, now 90%?

Are you continuing with them or feeling the need to switch to Byron White's, Cowden or some other protocol?

Do you feel these herbals are a good additional to your overall protocol? Do you feel they can be a stand alone?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Am taking BAR 1, just 7 drops per day. It cost $57 for 1 ounce bottle with shipping from Rhinebeck Health.

What does A-BART cost and how do you get it?

Thanks, MattH

That's crazy Matt - Bar-1 cost me $32 from my LLMD. It sounds like Rhinebeck is profiting nicely. [Frown]

That is what I thought and why I posted it. But I do not have another source at this time.

With my first visit with the LLMD on Monday I do not want to start with someone else just to get Bar 1. Any ideas?

Thanks, MattH

If you do the saliva testing with Beyond Balance you can buy direct from the company. Sounds like with that kind of mark up, you could benefit nicely from working directly with Beyond Balance.

I think I called them and they sent a kit in the mail:
Phone: (707) 794-0466
Toll-free: 1-800-332-7713

My son and I are both benefiting from BAR1... no huge herxes but obvious symptom relief.

I often ask the question that seekhelp has asked... A lot of people talk about herxes when they try anything new but don't actually talk about improvement.

I know herxes are supposed to mean killing the bugs but the end result is we want to feel better... I would like to hear more about improvement than herxes. I know it may be too soon for some to talk in terms of improvement though.

Regarding herxes vs. improvement: I've taken quite a few things for my Bart, including HH, Cumanda, rifampin, clove oil, and a few others I can't remember.

All of them made me herx. Only two gave me improvement, Cumanda and Rifampin. And the improvement from Cumanda was short-lived although very dramatic. While on Cumanda I had a few days when I felt completely normal. But it didn't last.

I can't speak for the long term outcome of Rifampin yet because I'm still on it, but so far, I keep herxing and feeling better.

Makes you wonder if some of the herbals may be agitating the bugs, or disrupting their biofilm, but not eradicating them. Herxes are definitely necessary in my experience - the herxes with Rifampin have been significant - but I think sometimes herxing gets over-emphasized on this forum. Also, the most severe herxing doesn't always mean the best improvement. But also I think pharmaceuticals can sometimes provide a false sense of improvement because they are anti-inflammatory and immuno modulating. I dont know, its a tough puzzle to solve.

I can't share anything yet because I haven't tried this or A-Bart, but I will say that I've talked with some people who swear by one, and some people who swear by the other, and people for whom neither did anything good.... so I suspect it is a case of personal differences and all of us having individual needs.
