If it is that bad, you are going to have to call your doctor and stop the med.
This is considered a severe side effect requiring a call to the doctor:
"Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Zithromax:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); bloody or watery stools; changes in hearing or hearing loss; chest pain; eye or vision problems; irregular heartbeat; muscle weakness; pain or inflammation at the injection site; pounding in the chest; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; ringing in the ears; seizure; severe or persistent diarrhea; stomach cramps or pain; symptoms of liver problems (eg, yellowing of the skin or eyes; dark urine; pale stools; severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite; unusual itching); trouble speaking or swallowing; unusual vaginal itching, odor, or discharge."

You need to stop zithro no Nicole....Do not take another one and call the llmd. He is not going to keep you on it.
You can lose so much of your hearing or wind up with that tinnitus permanently. There are many other things you can go on that do not affect hearing. I was changed off of it and it took awhile but the ringing is gone now..thank God.

Yeah you need to come off now! Dont mess around. I am lucky been on zith for a long time @ 250 mg twice a day. No problems, but not every med is right for every person. I dont think 250 mg would really do too much to lyme, but thats just opinion. There are plenty of abx options! Call your doc

I had to stop my meds when I upped my plaquenil and started hearing things-no ringing but weird noises that nobody else around me heard-very disturbing-- and the doctor stopped the meds as soon as I told him. You risk permanent hearing loss.

I've had tinnitus since being on zith for only a couple weeks, that was over a year ago.
