One of my remaining symptoms is not "feeling" like I used to; like my old self (personality changes).

However, as my brain heals a bit more, this is what happens: Something will remind me of how I used to be, a mood I was in 10 years ago that was normal, or an emotion I had in response to some stimulus, usually environmental stimulus like a beautiful mountain scene or something. Then, my brain will "remember" who I am supposed to be, and I will get an INSTANT terrible headache on the back base of my skull and a few other places in my brain.

Its almost like the electrical connections of a fully functioning brain are trying to reestablish themselves, and it hurts. Its not a terrible headache, more like a healing headache.

I've heard others say they get a headache when they try to think with Lyme, but for me, I get a headache when I try to "feel".

Maybe for some, Lyme effects the thinking part of the brain and others the emotions? For me, my thinking is somewhat effected, but mostly emotional.

Nothing's too strange for Lyme land.....

Dan,

Its interesting you mention this phenomenon. I was just noticing something similar lately, but its more like when I feel the old feeling you mention. I have the sudden emotion of fear, and sometimes sadness, kind of like those feelings come flooding back so much its overwhelming.

I m not complaining though after months of feeling dead I like those emotions.....

Yea, I like the emotions too. ANY normal emotions are welcome, even if they are sad. I can already tell the last brain healing journey of this will be the most strange, rewarding, and maybe scary.
