Please respond if you are rid of this.
What dosage did you take and how long?

Good question. I guess no one on here has gotten well from either.

I don't think anyone ever beats Duncani which depresses the hell out of me.

Me too!
I have taken six months of mepron/zithro/artesunate and have just started malarone/zithro/artesunate. I am at ground zero today.
I hope someone has been cured and responds with better news.

I have heard of several-it seems you have to treat it for a long time, and with high enough doses-2 tsp 2x/day mepron or 2-3 malarone 2x/day.
How much malarone are you taking/

I wonder... if it takes years to treat, or even 6 months to a year and no results are seen, how do people even know they are treating Duncani?
My doctor sort of thinks that after several months of Mepron, some results should be seen, or it probably isn't Babesia. Or even if it is, further Mepron/Malarone won't make a difference (and to go after other co-infections instead).
I'm not saying this is true for all cases, but just wondering after what point most LLMD doctors would say it isn't in fact Babesia?

ss, 4-6 teaspoons is a lot! Just taking two teaspoons a day cost me a fortune - over $50 a day. Taking 4 teaspoons for 9 months would cost me over $28,000!!! There must be another way.

SS didn't say that she had Duncani, so maybe she didn't have that particular strain, which is much harder to clear than all the others.

Since that post I have made a lot of progress which I have been warned several times could be short lived. I am on the third day of Coartem. I feel great. i will go back on Malarone tomorrow and then do another round of Coartem in 3-4 weeks. Hope it works.

Glad to hear it Neff. You are probably the first person I've heard of who has benefitted from Coartem. You have Duncani, correct?

I have Duncani. Coartem provided no lasting positive effects in any way.

Yes, I have Duncani. This is the day after and I took Malarone this morning. Already experiencing a bit of whooziness and fatigue. I don't know if it is a Malarone side effect or what - but the old plane is starting to sputter and it is looking a long way down to earth.
Do you know the cartoon where the coyote runs off the cliff, stands in mid air for a few seconds, looks down, gasps - and then falls, crashing in a heap at the bottom. . . . ?
That is me with this disease. Ever pursuing the cure, eternally optimistic, then crashing. It is a pendulum swinging from hope to despair. Coartem was the best three days I have had in a LONG time. Still not bad today -

Norcal: I am at 15 drops twice a day... I am guessing you titrated up until you reached 30 twice a day? Maybe this is something I can talk to my doc about. Thanks!
