Before I treated Bart, Lyme treatments did nothing for me. Now after some Bart treatment, I have more Lyme than I can handle...seems I've uncovered a new "layer." Question: Should I deal with this Lyme layer until its gone or go back to Bart treatment now?

Also, what antibiotics do people find most helpful to take with Tini to kill the released spiros?

And finally, if remission is our goal why do we want to activate spirochetes with Tini? Why not let them be dormant?

The cysts are a two-fold problem. They revert back to spirochetes when conditions are favorable (no antibiotics on board), and, it's recently been discovered that they are also a reproducing form. Yikes!

Tinidazole doesn't activate the spirochetes. It actually kills the cysts. Eva Sapi's new paper indicates that Tini kills the spirochete form as well, at least in vitro (petri dish). You could just be having a big, fat herx!

You should treat your Bart and Lyme at the same time. Combos like Rifampin, Mino or Doxy, Tinidazole are fine. If you tolerate Levaquin, that is even better than Rifampin.

Thanks Boxer. Interesting that cysts reproduce. What are peoples' opinions of the cephalosporins? They seem to be talked about less and less.
