Better get it checked. I have varying types of rectal pain that comes and goes.

It could possibly be an anal fissure. I was told I had one by my gastro dr. and given a nitroglycerin cream to put in that area.

When the pain came back I went to a rectal specialist and he said he didn't see one.

I think the pain I experience is due to Lyme and its effect on nerves.

Sitting too long will bring it on. No over the counter meds for anal pain brought relief.

Sitting in a tub of very warm as hot as you can stand water will help get the blood flowing to that area and promote healing and does offer relief.

I would recommend going to get it checked out. Not an area you can look at to determine what's gone on-lol.

A fissure? No kidding. We have those in the lake. Never heard of such a thing as a rectal issue. I do need to get this checked. It's a pain well you know in the a*s. Oh and the stench is unreal. Could mold or yeast be up there? How am I going to talk to a doc about this?? I'll be fire engine red. I just want the burning to stop. Have to lay on the floor with my butt in the air.. Good grief!

I don't think a fissure causes stench, but an infection could I suppose.

Any diarrhea?

My brother had a fissure he described the pain as pooping glass.

I just experienced a constant burn/sting, not the same as you'd experience after eating spicy food. A nagging burn that almost brought me to tears.

I missed work one day all I could do was lay on my side and deep breath.

Oh dear. I don't think it's c-diff. Cause I'm not having gas alot and my runs went away. The Oder could have been from not washing good enough cause that area burns so bad. Very annoying. Believe it or not.. I'm going to try to aim my portable fan that way.. might cool things off. This is one very strange thing going on here. If anyone else has this please share. I feel crappy and alone here. I appreciate the feedback.

Wow, this thread caught my eye!!!

Butt on fire, huh? Well, it could be parasites. Dang, I really feel for you, though. When I had the shingles down there near my perenial area, it hurt like the devils poker. I mean, it was uncomfortable and I could hardly wipe. I had Lichen Schlerosus also, which hurt much worse and I could pea or poop without it hurting.

Crx, I like your way with words. You definitely aren't squeamish. Try some soothing Aloe on the area. OH, the Epsom salt bath should help too. Bless you.

Arkle.. Who would have thought it would be such a hot topic? [Razz] I can only laugh at this point I guess. I am trying to go about my daily life with a burning A-hole ?? Not easy. I've been keeping it to myself and its left me real bound up inside. I do have some parasites so that may be the issue. I like your ideas..and I will give them a try. Man I guess you never know with this Lyme and company. Oh.. And just so everyone knows the portable fan aimed up there.. Well that does not work. Lol

If you have parasites, then I would highly suspect that's the problem. You might want to get on some antiparasitic herbs pronto! Google parasite symptoms.

Is a fissure a parasite? I'm all confused and still burning. And to top it off I let out a shart while at work and I now have skidmarks in my undies. Wow.. I feel like a freak. I dunno?

A fissure can be a symptom of a parasite and so can hemorroids. I have had both and used to get fissures on my hands and anal area. Turned out to be parasites.

Google pinworms. I never used it, but read somewhere that clove oil cream can help. Makes sense, because cloves can kill the eggs.

I'll look up this stuff and herbs and such. So far I've seen no other mention of burning butt anywhere. This is one explosive situation! Boo..

Best advice is to get that flaming rear to the dr. ASAP before the condition gets worse and harder to treat.

I would imagine a drs. visit would include a rectal exam and stool samples to be collected.

crx!!

I came back today just to see how your butt was doing. Sorry about the skid marks. You really need to see the doc, I suppose. If they are going to doa rectal probe, you can take a Valium and 2 Bendryl. That ought to relax you enough. Seriously, that's what I take when I have to get dental work done. It works like a charm.

One of the things that overgrows in gut flora and can cause burning but more often itching is yeast. Many who come to this forum are plagued by it. You can reduce it by not feeding it, check out www.scdiet.org. You should see a Dr. about it though. Fissures bleed mainly and the pain they cause is often described as sharp or knife like. An abscess can cause burning, but will likely be accompanied by a painful lump and fevers.

butt on fire, I can so relate. Last weekend I turned my anus inside out with compacted bowel. That better be my first and last experience with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had the pleasure of seeing my GI doc yesterday. He's also a friend of mine. he asked me if he needed to look at "it", my words not his, and I said no.

I think everything but the hemorroids(I really do need to learn how to spell this word) have go back where it belongs.

I wouldn't wish rectal pain/burning on anybody, that said here are a few ideas:
-Sit in very warm water with witch hazel in it
-Use Tuck's wipes or make your own with gauze and witch hazel
-Wrap an ice pack with a cloth soaked in witch hazel and jam it between your cheeks (and not the ones you smile with)

I have had my roids rubber banded (never again), I have had roids surgically removed (makes me queasy thinking of it) and had a 1 inch tear repaired 6 weeks after they were surgically removed. BTW I have given up any idea of modesty, my surgeon, God love him, invited anybody he could find into the OR to show them how "monserous" my roids were while I was unconscious and had my rear exposed to all. I told him he should've charged admission and split it with me.

DAY 4 OF THE CRX BUTT SAGA:

Chuckles from others, appreciation of humor. No complaints from the anus department today?

CRX, when you said "Let er rip" you meant literally, right? Hey, I just thought of another suggestion. When my lichen schlerosus flared up, I used Emu oil on it, as well at Estrace cream. Of course, I had to use a steriod ointment too, but the oil and Estrace helped build the tissue up.

I really recommend coconut oil with some drops of my essential oils like myrrh.

I've tried many things for burning butt...myrrh and frankenstein essential oils are some of the best oils added to a carrier oil. I've used others but coconut it the most soothing.
