My doc prescribed Rifampin but no blood work or liver checks. I don't intend to be on the medication for more than a few weeks. Do I need bloodwork?

I was on Rifampin for 12 months but I never had anything checked. I'm now on Invanz IV and I get my organs checked weekly. I think that's b/c IV is much stronger and can damage organs. I don't know if that applies to oral meds as well??
