I started Lugol's a few weeks back and feel amazing energy wise.

I think I am detoxing Bromide due to nightmares that went away after lowering the Lugol's frequency.

I have read that detoxing Bromide will interfere with hormones and I am going on day 33 of a normally 28 day cycle and I don't want this to interfere with my vacation in mid-July. I don't know if I should just stop supplementing for now or what. Any experiences?

I have been using lugols 2% and have noticed improvement with thyroid issues such as cold hands and a little more energy. Do you use it on your skin? Thats my only problem trying to keep up with my body soaking it all in every 12 hrs. Can you explain how it helps detox bromide and what that does for you?

I do use it on my skin and also use the 2%.

I just tried it on my own because the Armour was not making much of a difference for me even though my doc said not to because he did not know if I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

I am not that knowledgeable about this but detoxing Bromide is something like Bromide and Fluoride can be in the Iodine receptors and when Iodine is introduced, it displaces Bromide and Fluoride.

You cannot detox too quickly because your kidneys have to be able to keep up with getting these out of your body or they may be stored someplace else in your body.

I think if you google it, you can see a list of symptoms that are associated with detoxing Bromide and others.

It's not detoxing bromide or fluoride, it is displacing them by simple concentration dynamics.

When Br and fl are present or taken into the body in larger amounts than Iodine, they displace it in thyroid hormone (T4 has 4 iodines, an enzyme cleaves one off to make T3, active thyroid hormone, or reverse T3, which is ineffective.

Thyroid hormone that has BR and/or Fl instead of iodine is likely to be ineffective. Br and Fl are in many things, and unless you eat a diet high in seafood or take iodine supplement, it is likely that your iodine intake is very low.

Many meds are bromide salts or contain bromine or fluorine. Prozac, for instance, has has three fluorides in each fluoxetine molecule, hence the prefix fluo-. Big pharma's design to make us feel better as we get sicker.

When you take iodine via Lugol's soln or iodoral, you start displacing Br and Fl and many symptoms will result as your body starts working on the backlog, but make no mistake, it's your body's natural detox abilities that kick in.
