#*@&! Bart! I went into a rage in my car on the way to work this morning. Unprovoked, I just freaked and started yelling. Thankfully I was not carpooling.
I woke up anxious, butterflies in stomach. Angry, irritated and sad. My head was going in 1000 different directions at once. soles hurt, shins hurt. Muscle twitching. the whole deal.

Yesterday , I took Mepron. I had what I thought was a babs herx. chills, miserable, depressed, emotional, EXTREMELY dizzy. weak muscles... my whole body felt taxed and exhausted, like I just ran a marathon.

When I woke up this morning, I was in the middle of a Bart flare.

last week, it came to my attention that mixing Rifampin and Mepron made the Mepron inneffective. I was pulsing Rifampin, Mepron and Biaxin, and taking Samento, Banderol and Cumanda.

I still am, only now I decided to take the Rifampin on the odd days that I am not taking Mepron. Has anyone else done this type of thing?

Has anyone else gone from Babs herx to Bart herxes within days or hours of each other?

Sorry for rambling, Im pretty well screwed up today

I would follow your LLMD's instructions on the meds, don't change things around yourself. I'm sure he's aware of interactions and has accounted for them.

The rages were horrible ....

yea it stinks. I will go back to the way doc set it up. How do you account for the interactions of these two drugs? Isn't this a waste of money and time?

I would definitely ask the doctor. I know my doctor was known to use meds that interacted, and I'd ask him about it. He generally had an explanation. I'd at least take them at different times until you get to talk to him.

My LLMD told me Levaquin is stronger than Cipro, maybe it would help more??

I took twice the dosage of Cipro than Levaquin. 500 mg twice a day.
Now that I am taking Mepron, doesn't that render Levaquin inneffective also?

Yes. My LLMD switched me over to Malarone and Lariam when he put me on Levaquin. Levaquin is still more powerful than Cipro. I didn't even herx on Cipro ..... and I was knocked on my butt by Levaquin. They are different, yet the same.
