A friend of mine pulled off 6 ticks easily off her child while the 7th broke off and the head is still attached under skin...
Pediatrician said the head will work its' way out and NOT to worry and offered NO prophylactic protocol.
OK...I know what'd i do...run to llmd and get prophylactic treatment ASAP!! But, she's hesitant about using abx if not NECESARY.
what links could i send her about the the importance of removing and treating when the MOUTH still under skin.
Need links of info about transmission of lyme and co's and the bunk theory that it has to be attached more than 48hrs to get lyme.

Just reading this makes me sick!!!! And very angry!! It should be standard protocol for every doc office around the god darn country to insist on at least 4 weeks of something like doxy or whatever they can give children right away. If that had taken place in my sons case we never would have even had to travel the road we have with him!! Ugh.. If your Ped won't take a tick bite seriously find a new Ped very quick that will.
