Yes, I get these too sometimes (don't know any connection w/ herxing so much as with fatigue). And I get lightning flashes of light when I blink sometimes, too.

I used to get the lightning flashes, especially when walking into a dark room or when my eyes were closed. Over the years, I had two tears in my retina and had both of them sealed with a laser. I don't get the lightning flashes, anymore since having the retina tears fixed.

It might be good to get an eye exam from an Ophthomologist.

I looked up CEV on Wikepedia and was amazed. I used to get these a lot, and have experienced all levels described (except the last one), but I never knew there was a name for it. I also had visual disturbances with my eyes open, like lightening flashes, sparkly jagged rainbows of colour, black spots in my vision, floaters, and spots of brilliant white that I couldn't see past. This only happens rarely now, and I don't feel like I'm sick anymore - just a few symptoms now and then especially when I get really stressed.

I have a kaleidescope type motion of different shades of grays, dull whites and blacks when I have my eyes closed..

not all the time....

have dark brown dots, usually just one, like a mouse running across the floor, out of the corner of my eye too... not too often though....(while awake)

I had a basic eye exam done a few months (before i was diagnosed) back by the an average optometrist and was told my eyes looked fine.

I considered seeking an Ophthalmologist but am worried it might be another dead end or even worse have steroids pushed on me, which seems to be a common treatment for eye issues.
