i have two very large ganglion cysts on both ankles.

now i've sprained both ankles numerous times so maybe that's where they're from.

the left one is beginning to hurt. the right one doesn't bother me too much.

these are quite noticeable as they are about the size of a half dollar.

they doctor said he might put steroids into them but i said no thanks.

anybody else have these?

Yes. I had one on my left foot right where the shoelaces hit the top of my foot, caused by me slipping down some wet stairs (I "skied" down several steps, landing hard on my left foot). It really bothered me a lot, and I finally got fed up with it and smashed it. It hasn't returned.

I wonder if they can just deflate the cysts by withdrawing the fluid out of them with a syringe? I wouldn't think steroid shots would be necessary...

Yes, I have them.
You need to treat your disease and then they will vanish - no steroids.

Yes, I have many many ganglion cysts, in my ankles and elsewhere. i have had them surgically removed three times, I also have calcium cysts.
They grow back.
Steroids are really bad for Lymies and I cannot imagine what they would do to the cysts.
Surgery is not a good option either, but it was surgery or stop walking so...

I have a soft lump next to my ankle. Is this a Ganglion cyst? I went to a podiatrist, who said it was a "muscle belly" whatever that is. I don't believe that. This occurred around the same time that I was having pain in my feet and ankles, and trouble walking. The pain has mostly gone, but the lump remains. It doesn't look like a cyst, iy looks like a lump. I would love to know what it is. Has only been around since I have been really sick.
