I take clay to help me detox, but I have been reading that you can buy powders, mix it with water. Then it becomes just like clay, and you put it on your body and it is supposed to pull out toxins?

Anyone do this? Does it seem to work; if so where and how do you apply it.

Thanks!!!!

jbaer,

My husband did this once for an overall detox, but it was quite messy. For full-body detox, I'd say either a FIR sauna or an epsom salt bath is a better choice. However, I would recommend it for more focal use.

For example, I always keep clay powder in the house now for insect bites. I've used it on some "angry" spider bites, and it really did seem to calm them down and speed up healing.

As you said, just mix with water to the consistency of a thick paste. Apply to the affected area and leave it there until it hardens/dries out. Then peel off and wash any residue off with water.

Don't laugh, but I used the clay powder to make a sort of thick poultice that I smeared over my belly and left on for 20 minutes after I had a CT stomach scan.

Usually I use it for footbaths, as I am trying to bring down my lead and mercury levels and am trying these as an adjunct to chelation with oral DMSA [and later, Detoxamin].

The clay powder in paste form is also said to be helpful for spots on your face.

I've been using the clay too, was suppose to use it to absorb toxins instead of charcoal, but just never could bring myself to drinking it. I know I am a sissy baby. HA!

BUT, I have added some herbal extracts to the paste (made by adding water to dry clay powder) and used it topically for painful muscles and other things.

I add frankincense, peppermint oils, wintergreen, lavender and myrrh and a couple of other things -can't remember.

It is messy, and not too "pretty", and when drying it gets rather crumbly and flaky, so I started using jojoba oil as the base for the pain killing oils/herbs instead, which is also very good.

I've recently graduated to a mixture made by a friend that has a very nice neutral cream base and it is the easiest to work with for an all-over thing.

Hope it helps you too!

Great thread! You can get great effects by rubbing into joints large and small
drops of cilantro tincture - drops of anything containing curcumin - drops of Quintessence. Just make sure you take some binders too because the rub-ins will mobilize toxins that do not wash off but need to go out through other excretory organs.

Take care.

Neurotoxins (manmade and by micrioorganisms) can take some 30 years to leave the body. Bugs long dead, but neurotoxins need to be eliminated ongoing. If you don't know what neurotoxins are, read Dr. K."s "Neurotoxin Elimination Protocol" (www.klinghardtacademy.com) which toward the bottom lists all the neurotoxins that we are dealing with. And no matter which neurotoxin - they all have the same effects and feel miserable.

I mixed it with apple cider vinegar and smeared it on my liver and let it dry.

It really is great for drawing out toxins

Does it draw out toxins through the skin like a far infrared sweat detox session would?

Just be careful about having it go down the drain, it can really plug up the pipes. I rad if using as a face mask, do wipe off with a disposable towlette and throw away.

I was told by Cowden that putting this on scars would remove toxins from the scars. There is a certain procedure to use.

I'm not totally convinced but I thought I would give it a try.

The clay I have is not to drink!! It's only to put on the skin.
