Can anyone recommend a good brand of probiotics & please let me know where you buy them. Online options will be great.

I've been using a GNC brand for about a year but I keep hearing stories regarding poor quality.

Thanks - K

My very excellent LLMD gave me Florastor. We buy it online to save money because it is expensive. But it really does work. In addition, he added a weekly one called Fluconazole, a prescription.

I have used many other types and have found these to work remarkably well.

fluconazole is a prescription antifungal NOT a probiotic.

many people like vsl3 ...there is a prescription strength that some insurance copanys cover (vsl3 ds)

if you buy it over the counter i get it direct from vsl3. they pack it in a cooler and 2nd day air.

it is very expensive though.

Klaire Labs Ther-biotic powder. Could never take Ceftin due to lower GI problems, but with this product, did 60 days with no problems!

Renew Life

I use the Vaginal Support with 10 strains of Probiotics and 50 Billion per capsule - 30 pills for 37.- dollars, I think

and the Critical Care with more than 10 strains, I think 15 strains, and 80 Billion per capsule - 30 capsules for 59.- dollars

I get them at Whole Foods

My little, tiny health food store actually has then for a about 10 bucks cheaper, go figure

I would not get them online as they need to stay refridgerated

My bowl movements improved (!) while I was on 200mg doxy bid for 21 days with one each of these capsules (=130 Billion a day) - could be because the doxy helped my bowl infection (?) -

CVS had several probios with 0.5 Billion organisms and I asked the pharmacist what to take for someone who is taking antibiotics and she showed me the recommended product in another isle with 4 Billion in each pill - hm - I went for my refridgerated 130 Billion from Whole Foods...

Dr. D'Adamo has probiotics specific for blood type that have really helped me. You could check those out on the blood type website.

I have done the Blood Type diet for almost 5 months with improvements on digestion.
