Just wondering what everybodies experiences with ceftin were? I just started it and wonder what to expect. Did you take it with Probenecid>?
What did it help with? Did you herx on it? what type of herx did you get?
Any info would be appreciated

I've been on Ceftin more than once and always feel better after the initial mild herx. Don't know that it gets at the non-spirochete forms, because my symptoms don't completely disappear and the ones that do come back after I'm off Ceftin (unless I switch to different abx).
Specifically, Ceftin makes my wandering joint pain & hand pain go away, helps my brain function a bit better (memory, concentration, etc.), and encourages better behavior from my GI tract. Does nothing for anxiety, but I think in my case the anxiety is more from Bart than Lyme (Cipro makes the anxiety go away).

My doc just switched me to Ceftin, 500mg BID. Nothing I'd identify as a "herx" accompanied the switch from doxy to Ceftin, but I do seem to be responding to it better. Best thing is, I don't get violently nauseous from the doxy, and I can go out in the sun if I want.
Interesting thing is that the neurologist I saw on Saturday thought it was a mistake, and that my primary should have kept me on doxy but doubled the dose to get at the critters he suspects are now in my brain.
Having an MRI tomorrow, so if they find anything I will be put on IV Rocephin anyway, so no need to freak out for today over possibly being on the wrong meds. If that one comes back normal, they will do a lumbar puncture to check for abnormalities in the CSF, like lymphocytic pleocytosis and other inflamatory markers associated with the Bell's Palsy I had, and also do a PCR to look for Bb fragments in the CSF that would indicate for sure that they have at least been in there playing around with my nervous system.
