Saaw my LLMD about a week and a half ago. He changed my meds to Minocycline and Rifampin; I started both right away at full dose--may have been the problem.

By three days after starting the meds, I developed a headache in my right temple, ringing in my ears, blurry vision, and just strange head pressure.

It got so bad that I was also dizzy and nauseated along with the head pressure--it wasn't really pain, just pressure around my ears and the base of my skull.

Stopped taking the meds and called LLMD for advice. He wants me to start up on half doses of the meds to see if that solves the problem.

I talked to him yesterday, been off the meds since Sunday night, and I still feel weird. Still have on and off pressure in my ears, blurry vision and occasional pressure in my right temple.

I have myself so scared that I have a brain tumor or brain swelling or bleeding in the brain.

I haven't restarted the meds yet; I want to wait till I definitely feel better with these headaches. Just trying to get alot of fluids and detox first.

Anyone else ever have this issue? What did you do about it?

I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I'm very sensitive to meds, so I never start more than one at a full dose. I'm a light weight so I always ended up overdosing! So with that said, I always cut it in half and take twice as long dripping my IV just in case. I also give my body 1-2 weeks to adjust before introducing a new med/herb so if I'm having a problem I will know which one is the culprit.

I think you need to detox big time. That will help with the inflammation and headaches. I like coffee enemas for headaches. Castor oil packs work wonder for my liver. You can also try lemon juice and epsom salt baths. I'm getting really good at reading my body now... when my body is overloaded w/ biotoxins, it causes everything in my body to swell, including my brain...then in a matter of a day or two I get those nasty headaches and eyes pain that just won't quit! So now I don't let it get to that point and I detox like a mad woman!!

If you search on coffee enemas and castor oil packs you will find tons of resources. Good luck!

THanks scorpiogirl and payne.

I'm wondering now if any or all of this is being caused by fluid in my ears. My ears are ringing again, and my ears keep popping when I swallow.

I'm also wondering how much of this may be caused by the mold I found in our basement. I had to bring up a stroller last week, and it was covered in mold. I don't feel well in my basement, and I wonder if it's just permeating the house now. [Frown]

I felt better briefly, but not altogether; I still felt like I was floating away from my body or something. Is that depersonalization of brain fog?

Hi Starfall, do not underestimate this mold thing. With this much in the basement, it is possible you have developed a sensitivity for mold. Also it is in your system as you breath the spores in, it floats in the air. Its highly toxic and you can be allergic to it.

Taking antibiotic then will increase the mold and make the reaction x times stronger.
Make sure you can ventilate the basement better. Have it cleaned thoroughly by a specialist. It's a biggie I tell you. I am allergic to mold too. It can make you seriously depressed just by breathing some of it in.

Make sure your selenium level is optimal for detoxing and fighting the bugs with your own immune system.

Lots of selenium info. click here

I had a pretty similar reaction to Mino. years ago when I took it. My understanding is that is can cause dizziness, ear issues, headaches etc..

Herx or side effect right? Hard to tell...When I switched over to Doxy all those things went away and we decided, for my case anyway, it was nasty side effec of the Mino.

I agree about the mold thing. Last year I had black mold remediated in my attic and then more in my bathroom. I felt soooo much better until I began having abx. yeast issues again and the outdoor mold spores got high. Puts some people into overload when there is environmental and internal mold issues.

I agree with leonardjio re; the selenium. I am back on it again..

When my daughter went on mino, the llmd warned me about exactly the reactions you are getting. If she got them, she was to STOP the mino. She had no reaction thankfully.

We were also getting ready to go on vacation and we would be unable to get any real help where we were at, so that might have had a play in all that.

Good luck.
