With a positive ANA screen and 1:80 titer, what does Nucleolar mean?? Does Lyme trigger a positive ANA?

Lyme can trigger a positive Ana. I had an Ana come back saying systemic sclerosis which is sclerderoma. Had tests repeated and others run.. Negative and no symptoms of that disease. My lyme I'm sure triggered the false positive.

Googled systemic sclerosis and naturally says an autoimmune disease. And of course, cause is unknown. This seems to be a common pattern. But I will say that my fingers will turn white or blue when exposed to cold temps. It doesn't have to be below freezing for this to happen either. That's the only symptom I have for sclerderoma. Can a rheumy help or do I just need to treat Lyme?

I have the finger issue too. I've had it all my life. IMO, you may want to repeat the Ana, but if your not symptomatic for sclerosis I'd forget about it. Yes.. Lyme and friends can trigger autoimmune. But, my rheumy told me I had no classic symptoms of this rare disease. I do have a thyroid issue from Lyme, but that makes sense.

I have thyroid issue also. Never figured it was from Lyme. But then never did any research on Lyme until my husband got sick.

Hi Lymetoo! Did some research and this Raynaud's Syndrome and it sometimes accompanies other diseases such as hypothyroidism, RA, lupus. I'm just trying to put all the pieces together. Trying to find an underlying cause for things going on in my body.

None of my doctors saw an ANA 1:80 to mean anything. Even son is 1:80 and in pediatric population it says more investigation needed. Google 1:80 and you will see that in most labs this is negative because a certain part of the population has this normally. I am 1:640, diagnosed incorrectly with lupus although I didn't have the other labs to support.
I think Lyme weakens the immune system causing the body to turn on its self or have an autoimmune reaction which is measured by the anti-nuclear, antibody test.
I'm hoping mine is on the way down.

same positive pattern, same titer, blue knuckles. it went away after three months. i was hyperthyroid at the time. also went away. be careful tho, i had some small permanent damage done esp my gums, jaw and skin tightening on my hands. mouth guard and good oral hygiene slowed it down a bit. lots of anti inflammatory foods and sleep worked for me. meditation too.
