I removed a small tick from the bend of the my elbow a couple of weeks ago. There is a hard bump where I was bitten and it took a couple of weeks for the bump to go down and stop itching.

Now about 2 inches to the left of where I was bitten I have broken out in a red, itchy, bumpy rash (been there for about a week)and it is moving down my arm onto my hands.

It just dawned on me that this might be a lyme disease rash.

For the past week I've been putting Benedryl cream on it and just thought maybe it was a breakout from the sun or my past LD infection.

Does LD produce rashes that are not in the form of a bulls-eye? Could this be a new infection?

Now I'm worried.

Any thoughts?

PS - I kept the tick in a baggie. Is it still possible to test it?

Yes, if you read the literature, am EM rash doesn't always have the typical bulls eye appearance. Do you have a good LLMD already? If not, PM me. I know a good one in Indiana.

Yup, you need treatment ASAP. Do you have any other symptoms? Don't go to just any dr for this!!

YES! I got rebitten in mid June and developed a rash about 8 days later (it had already healed up nicely too) My rash was not a classic "bulls eye" but was completely filled in.

If I were you I'd get on some Doxy pronto, just in case.

I woke up this morning with a red somewhat red raised rash under both arms and a couple of weird red spots (not raised) on my feet and legs.

I'm scared now. I don't know if I can take the Doxy. I've been off all meds due to severe gastritis. About an hour after I take any meds I feel extremely sick to my stomach sometimes vomiting. What if I can't take the meds.

Supposed to leave for Florida in 8 days for a family vacation. [Frown]
