Just wondering what everybody else has in terms of symtpoms for bart?

Today I feel like my head is just full of mud..I feel dizzy and disorientated. I have anxiety and headaches behind my eyes!

My ears are ringing like crazy!!

Anybody else experience this? is this a bart thing?

I have increased my dose of mepron for babs but it seems like bart symptoms are flaring!

those are bart symptoms. I had the same. I also had major anxiety and morose, suicidal, paranoid thoughts. I was in a very scary place. I thought it was on its way out after a few months of treating with Cipro. But I recently switched to Rifampin and that has brought out some major symptoms that I didn't have before. foot pain, shin pain. Sticky, clammy sweats.

I have Babesia too, which I think is what makes me so dizzy. Hard to tell what's what when you're treating 3 infections.

The problem is that I am not currently treating bart.. I am only treating babs and lyme so I am not sure what to do. I am going to email my LLMD and ask her but should I be treating all 3 infections at the same time?

If so then what should I be taking? Iam currently on Mepron, Plaquenil and Zithro

well I have my own questions about my treatment, so I could tell you what you should be taking, but it isn't uncommon to treat all three at once.

Hi. I'm new here and not sure how to post. I have been treating for Bart for 10 months now. Levaquin, Doxy, Bactrim. Bitten in 2009. My worse symptoms right now are sore feet, can hardly walk. Has anyone ever gotten rid of the sore feet or am I doomed for life? I am getting so discouraged I'm ready to give up. Please if there is anyone out there thathas gotten rid of sore feet please please let me know. Thank you

Oh gosh Lymejumper, my heart goes out to you... I know about the feet. And I will tell you that I have done cycles of Bactrim, Rifampin and Zith, and now Levaquin. For me, I think Babesia plays in even with the foot pain as I am now on Malerone and was on Coartem (for a round) and had no foot pain. So... it is my docs belief that you have to be patient and keep cycling through the drugs. Do you have any symptoms of Babesia by chance... Night sweats etc. I do think you can beat this... I was at your place a year ago and that is why I switched doctors. I could barely walk. Now, I am now quite where I want to be but in a LOT less pain and no neuropathy and that came hand in hand with my foot pain- like in the arch area in particular. Hang in there! [Smile]

To those with foot pain, can you describe it for me? I started to develop bursitis in my feet 2 years ago due to fallen arches. This was a pre-lyme diagnosis verdict from my podiatrist. I have never noticed the morning 'burning' that is linked to bart, but wonder if the pain that I have might be attributable. Thanks!

I get aching in my archesa few mornings per week upon waking. It sometimes hurts to walk. After an hour or so it goes away for the most part. My physical symptoms are much slighter than my neuro stuff. I don't get Burning, more of a dull ache that almost feels like a charlie horse...

Thank you for the encouraging words willbeatthis. I have not had any symptoms of babs. I am in Nova Scotia Canada so our testing here is useless. My dr. diagnosed me clinically for bart. No night sweats, severe fatigue or other tx of babs. My feet feel like I'm constantly walking on broken glass. I have had lots of other symptoms of bart and have gotten rid of most of them. Only occasional pain in ears and arms. No more heart palps either. If only the pain in my feet could go away somewhat I would feel so much better. I see my dr. again in two weeks. Not sure what he'll try me on then but I hope it is something that will help. Thanks again for support. I hate to hear that anyone is sick with this but I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Hope for recovery for all who are suffering with this "bite from hell".

My son's Bart signs/symptoms include: the characteristic purple lines of the Bart rash; severe confusion and difficulty thinking; and periods of intense agitation and rage.

He is responding nicely thus far to a combination of rifampin and minocycline.

Hang in there!
Susie
