Today I all of a sudden have terrible dry mouth. Can lyme cause this? I just stopped taking antibiotics.

Lyme and company gave me a dry mouth, dry eyes, and dry other places too!
Good lyme treatment got rid of all of this. Lousy lyme treatment didn't get rid of these things.
I had to doctor for each of them.

It also could be the beginning of a yeast (Candida) infection. Watch for oral thrush in mouth (sores), skin hives or rash, mood swings, depression and anxiety, more joint pain, dry skin and mouth. Twitching and/or trembling like MS, dry eyes, constipation or diarrhea, and nausea. Are you on an antifungal for preventative? You don't have to go off meds unless you have yeast. It took me only took about 3 months to get this infection which started with dry mouth and eyes. I was diagnosed with sjogrens, bought the drops and biotene but it did nothing. Please be careful. Good luck

Sometimes the abx can do this. Biaxin made my mouth so dry I could not talk. I had to quit taking it.

TF, can you say more about what tx you did for this, aside from the TBI tx?? And what kind of drs did you see, ie, LL opthalmologist, dentist(?), I presume not a rheumatologist!
I was dx'd a long time ago with Sjogren's, although I didn't beleve it at the time. Now I do, except it's clearly from Lyme & co. But I've had it for decades, so not sure if it will ever go away. I've tried everything for the dry mouth/unquenchable thirst
Due to that and to meds, I now need an unreal amount of dental work. And my diet and daily dental hygiene are impecable. It's horrifying.
ANd getting rid of Candida didn't get rid of this at all for me. I may need to deal with it more again, due to abx, but it's certainly not just that for me.

Kerry23, I do have nausea, trembling hands, dry skin, and dry mouth. I'm not taking any antifungals. Do you still think you have sjogrens?
